Therapy for Humans and Horses - Beginnings

AT LEFT:  Vic, Barbara Wright's therapy horse, is teaching her how to hold a rope and lead him, or otherwise he'll end up leading her around by the nose.

It all began with horses, so read  that complete story in the Horse Story section.  Barbara's horse rescue and sanctuary in Conifer, CO, Harmony HorseWorks, was founded in 2002 and in 2015 she moved to AZ in semi-retirement to concentrated on developing human therapies and raise money for horses through sales of her art.  Now she lives and works just outside Sedona, AZ in spectacular high desert and red rock country.

The  Equilibrium and PEAT Processes are designed to build a compassionate heart, open mind, a sense of well-being, and the ability to face life's many challenges.

Equine Stress Control Therapy (ESCT) helps stabilize the reactivity of spooky and anxious horses into responses instead of reactions.

Read on below to discover how these processes might help you shed the limitations of your conditioning.  Links for more info are in the menu bar above.

Equilibrium Self-Integration Processes (ESIP)

AT RIGHT:  Barbara desensitizes Vic to a new ball in his arena by asking him to stand quietly next to it, and then reach down and touch it with his nose.

Dissolve your egoic fears and discover the power of the inner self instead of the outer personality.  The ego makes a poor master but a good servant in our society.  Move from the small  and egoic self to inner knowing by experiencing the Equilibrium Self-Integration Processes (ESIP).  Who will you be without your emotional baggage - a light and liberated traveler through life.  If you are at the end of your rope, what will happen when you let go of the rope - you'll watch the rope fall.  The first steps to emotional and spiritual  freedom are to unpack the baggage and let go of the rope.  You will begin to see ego as only a small part of the landscape of your being, a small part that will no longer run your life with whirling thoughts and negative thinking.  The 11 currently developed ESIP processes are listed here and  described in more detail in the video at right.

PEAT was invented in the early 2000s by Zivorad Slavinski, a Serbian psychologist who visited me in Conifer, Colorado to teach a 5-day intensive in his exceptional techniques used to integrate the polarities between which individuals vacillate and dis-create the charge.  The spiritual psychology processes contain an element of bilateralism as the left/right resources of the intellectual and intuitive human brain are engaged.   More info about each process is available in the PEAT slide presentation at left.  The PEAT processes in which Barbara Wright was trained and certified are:

Basic PEAT

Equine Stress Control Therapy (ESCT) was invented by Barbara Wright in 2002 to help calm and  train the anxious and nervous rescue horses at Harmony HorseWorks, her former rescue and sanctuary in Conifer, CO. (2002-2015).  Learn more in the ESCT slide presentation at right. A few ESCT videos are available on YouTube as well.  A book on and slide presentation can also be ordered. Brief descriptions of each ESCT process are available in the menu link. Consult with Barbara about your horse's issues.

The ESCT techniques include:

Bilateral Horizontal Eye Movement for the Horse

Bilateral Vertical Eye Movement for the Horse

Bilateral Manual Body Tapping on the Horse's Bony Structure

Bilateral Body Tapping with the Harmony Pulser
